In 2010-2011, all the workshops are designed for the media arts sector!

This year’s unique training program was conceived especially to meet the needs of the media arts community and is comprised of two group activities and two individual activities. Although certain details such as the registration deadline or the workshop date will be confirmed only in August, we felt it important to give you as much notice as possible so that you can let us know of your interest because places are so limited and each training activity will be given only once this year. MEDIA ARTS TOOLBOX

For a third consecutive year, the Media Arts Toolbox is once again offered to professional artists and cultural workers in the media arts sector who seek to acquire specialized skills necessary to the consolidation of their careers, projects or organizations. This individual (one on one) training activity enables participants to learn from the best expert in the field within a framework agreed upon between the participant and the trainer. This year, each participant is allotted ten hours of traning.

This workshop answers the asymmetrical learning needs of professional media artists and organizations and can accommodate a wide range of skill set training in areas other than creative production such as promotion, marketing, touring, copyright, branding, budgeting, etc.  

Participants who wish to register for this workshop can suggest a trainer of their choice when submitting their dossier. CQAM reserves the right to approve the choice of the trainer or may also suggest a trainer of its choice.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: First come first serve until the 100 hours are used up.

WORKSHOP DATES: Workshops can start as soon as jury selection of participants is completed and as agreed upon between the participant and the expert trainer. All workshops must be held before February 25th 2011.

WORKSHOP LOCATION: As determined between the participant and the expert trainer.

DURATION: 10 hours of individual (one on one) training.

ELIGILIBILITY: The participant must be a professional artist having produced at least to works in a context considered professional by peers and funders or be a cultural worker in a media arts artist-run center. Registration priority goes to CQAM members.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 10

COST: $ 150 (Real cost $1400)

TO REGISTER: Aspiring participants must fill out the required forms and submit all the necessary documents (see registration form). The selection jury is composed of media arts professionals. If needed, there will be 2 evaluation periods: September and December 2010.

Once selection is confirmed, participants must pay the total cost of training within seven (7) days or forfeit their participation. Refunds must be requested 15 working days before the scheduled training date.
